Founder, Satellite Group
Building brands, products and companies.
Eloka builds brands, products and systems behind ambitious companies.
He is the founder of Satellite Group, which brings together Satellite Labs and House of AGU. Satellite Labs is a creative and technology company working across brand, digital products and growth, partnering with founders and organisations at moments of change to turn ideas into companies, products and experiences people can understand, use and care about.
The work spans strategy and identity through to websites, applications, digital infrastructure, content, campaigns and physical experiences. Across each project, Satellite's role is much the same: find the big idea inside a business, give it form, and build the systems that help it grow. That has meant everything from building the infrastructure behind an AI powered health brand that generated $2.5 million in 20 days to operating as the embedded creative and technology partner to a global financial services group of more than 600 people.
The other side of the Group is House of AGU, a footwear company exploring what the future of fashion can look like through design, culture and new manufacturing technologies. Its first shoe is made using 3D printing technology recognised by TIME among its Best Inventions.
Before Satellite, he co-founded and led Keakie, a music discovery platform that reached more than 2 million users and raised £1.5 million before being acquired by Defected Records. The platform worked with more than 1,000 DJs. He has since worked across startups, technology, culture and consumer businesses as a founder, advisor and investor.
He holds a dual Master's in Innovation Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, and a Bachelor's in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Warwick. Earlier in his career, he worked at Google, Goldman Sachs and Accenture.
He writes and speaks about creativity, entrepreneurship, technology, consumer culture and what it takes to build things people actually care about. Much of what interests him comes down to the relationship between creativity and commerce: why certain ideas spread, why certain products become culturally significant, and how technology is changing what it means to build a company.
He has spoken at events and panels including SXSW London, Galacta Melanin and Motherland Africa, and has been featured in publications including Forbes and Lovers Magazine, and interviewed on Rinse FM. His work has also been published in (Re)Told.
And he DJs, which is somewhere between research and a release.
If you're building something ambitious, looking for a creative and technology partner, want some fresh goods, or just want to talk about where culture and technology are going next, say hello.
@elokaagu everywhere.
